Congratulations to Mr. Andrew Yuen-elected President of the Hong Kong Federation of Don Bosco Past Pupils

27 May 2025

Dear All,

As we approach the 100th anniversary of St. Louis School, I want to highlight some important changes regarding the SLOBA council for the term 2025/2026, as well as congratulate Mr. Andrew Yuen on his transition to his new role.

I am thrilled to announce that Andrew has been elected President of the Hong Kong Federation of Don Bosco Past Pupils (HKDBPP), effective January 2025. This is a monumental achievement, as he is the first St. Louis Old Boy and SLOBA council member to attain this prestigious position. His journey from Vice President to this esteemed role is a testament to his dedication and leadership.

The HKDBPP, established in 1971 as Federation of Chinese Salesian Past Pupils and renamed in 1984, has been vital in connecting all Old Boys Associations of Salesian Schools in Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan with the Salesian of Don Bosco Headquarters in Italy. The Hong Kong federation includes six Old Boys Associations from Hong Kong and two from Macau.

Andrew has consistently demonstrated his commitment to the values of the Salesian community. Since 2019, he has represented Hong Kong and SLOBA at numerous international and regional meetings of Don Bosco Past Pupils. His insights and contributions have been invaluable, including a recent interview in a Salesian publication that recognised his role as Liaison Officer for SLOBA. Last week, he participated in an online meeting with the World Confederation of Past Pupils, showcasing his unwavering dedication to our mission. Looking ahead, Andrew will play a key role in leading the Hong Kong Federation of Don Bosco Past Pupils (HKDBPP) as it prepares to host the Don Bosco Past Pupils Asia Meeting in 2026, coinciding with the 150th anniversary of the Salesian mission—a signi icant milestone that will require collective support.

At the same time, his contributions to SLOBA over the years have been substantial and heartfelt: from co-founding the Youth Achievement Awards (YAA) Dinner, to fostering connections locally and overseas, including his recent visit to SLOBA Canada, and even offering his culinary talents for the S6 graduates lunch and weekly dinners for clergymen —his commitment to the St. Louis community has left a lasting impact.

As we celebrate his contributions, Andrew will have to take on new responsibilities with broader scope. He will transition from Vice President in SLOBA to his role at HKDBPP, while continuing to serve as a director in SLOBA. Despite the change, we expect him to continue as a core contributor to our old boys community.

I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to Andrew for his contribution over the years. His unwavering dedication and persistence have been instrumental in our success. Let us all celebrate him as a role model of SLOBA council. Let’s give him a resounding round of applause for his outstanding contributions!

Warm regards,

Aaron Lee

President, SLOBA (2025)
